Trading and foreign exchange rate update
Current trading is consistent with the outlook commentary included in our Q1 earnings announcement on 29 April 2009. No new trading information will be disclosed during the presentations.
As noted in our Q1 earnings announcement and conference call, the effective rate of translation for ARM's Q2 revenues is expected to be higher than the average exchange rate in the quarter. If the exchange rate remains similar to the current level of $1.55, the effective rate of translation for Q2 is expected to be in the range $1.57 to $1.60. In the second half of 2009, the difference between the effective rate of translation of ARM's revenues and the average exchange rate is expected to be less significant than in the first half.
Over 95% of ARM revenues and approximately 50% of ARM costs are dollar denominated.
