Banco Comercial Português informs
about JPMorgan Group qualifying holding (amendment)
In accordance with article 17 nr. 1 of the Portuguese Securities Code (Código dos Valores Mobiliários), Banco Comercial Português, S.A. (BCP) hereby informs that it has received a notice from JPMorgan Chase & Co., informing that following correspondence with the Comissão de Mercado de Valores Mobiliários, its disclosure of 5 August 2008 has been revised.
"On 31 July 2008 the total number of shares held by one of the Group's subsidiaries, J.P. Morgan securities Ltd, as a result of ordinary trading activities, decreased to 93,648,967 shares representing 1.995% of the issued share capital of the company.
