Messaging International Plc10 September 2007 Messaging International Plc / Market: AIM / Epic: MES / Sector: Technology 10 September 2007 Messaging International Plc ('the Company') Text to Landline Service Launched with TELUS Messaging International Plc, the AIM traded provider of innovative messagingservices, has, through its subsidiary TeleMessage Ltd, launched its Text toLandline solution with TELUS, a leading national telecommunications company inCanada. The application allows TELUS mobile subscribers to send text messages to anywireline phone in Canada and the United States. The text messages are convertedto English or French voice messages and either played to the wireline phoneowners or left on their voicemail or answering machine. The TELUS mobilesubscriber receives a status text message telling him if a live person receivedthe message or if it was left on a voicemail or answering machine. Wirelinerecipients can then respond using their own voice. The TELUS mobile subscriberwill receive a text message notification with details on how to retrieve theresponse, and can then dial in and listen to the voice message. Mark Carlin, Vice President of Sales for the Americas at TeleMessage said, "Theapplication is very simple to use. The TELUS customer simply sends a textmessage to a landline number instead of a mobile number. I am often asked, whydon't they just call instead? The short answer is because they do not want to.The people that text message and use Instant Messenger today like that method ofcommunication and having some extra time to think before they have to respond. This application bridges the gap between the young and the older, the mobiletext user and the landline voice user. We have seen tremendous growth in use ofthe solution over the past two years. I have no doubt TELUS will experience thesame." TELUS subscribers pay standard text message rates for Text to Landline messages. For more information on Text to Landline from TELUS, visit telusmobility.com/bc/wweb/home_phone_text_services.shtml. - ENDS - Messaging International Plc: Messaging International Plc joined AIM in August2005 with the objective of becoming a leading provider in the rapidly growingmultimedia messaging market.
