AGM Trading Statement
At today's AGM, Christopher Sandland, Chairman of Young & Co.'s Brewery, P.L.C. made the following comments about trading:
"I am pleased to report that we have made a good start to the current year with trading in line with the Board's expectations.
"For the first quarter, managed house sales were up 2.1% in total and up 2.4% on a like for like basis. In addition, the improved second half performance of our hotels has continued into the current year.
"Our well-invested estate, coupled with our premium position and the quality of our food offering, has enabled us to make progress against last year despite market conditions. Whilst we remain watchful of the economic outlook, we believe that we are well placed to manage any further challenges that may emerge and we remain confident about our prospects for this financial year."
