Chemring Group PLC23 March 2006 CHEMRING GROUP PLC AGM STATEMENT BY THE CHAIRMAN Chemring Group PLC (the "Company") today celebrated its 100th Annual GeneralMeeting. Ken Scobie, Chairman, made the following statement: "I am delighted to reportthat the Group continues to make excellent progress. Our countermeasuresdivision is performing well and strong order intake, particularly at KilgoreFlares in the USA, has contributed to an increase in the Group's order book to£179 million from £160 million since the end of January. The acquisition of Technical Ordnance, Inc. was completed on 13 March 2006,following receipt of regulatory approvals. Good progress is also being made onthe integration of the other four recently-acquired businesses in the Energeticsdivision, and the delivery of our strategy for this division is on-track. The recruitment of a third independent non-executive director is under way, andit is hoped that an appointment will be announced shortly. David Evans, who served as Chief Executive of the Group for six years and morerecently as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, is due to retire in October 2006. TheBoard values his continued input and it has therefore been agreed that, witheffect from 1 April 2006, he will take-up a three year appointment as anon-executive director of the Company.
