SANDERSON DESIGN GROUP PLC
("Sanderson Design Group", the "Company" or the "Group")
AGM Statement
Trading in line with Board expectations for the full year
Sanderson Design Group PLC (AIM: SDG), the luxury interior design and furnishings group, will hold its Annual General Meeting ("AGM") at 10.00 a.m. today. At the AGM, the Group's Chair, Dianne Thompson, will make the following statement:
"Overall, the Group continues to trade in line with the Board's expectations for the full year.
"In our full year results announcement on 30 April 2025 we reported that the announcement of tariffs in early April had impacted order intake in all regions. I am pleased to report that this pressure eased in May and that order intake has improved so far in June compared with the same time last year. Geographically, this improvement has been seen across the UK, USA and Northern Europe though we remain cautious given the pace of recent macro-economic events.
"The retail launch of the Highgrove by Sanderson collection on 1 May 2025 has been very well received. Requests for samples have been the strongest of any Sanderson launch and initial sales are highly encouraging. The collection's Rose Pergola fabric and The Stumpery wallpaper have so far led sampling and sales.
"Our licensing segment continues to perform well and in line with Board expectations, with strong growth in underlying performance reflecting revenue generation from previously signed agreements. New licensing agreements signed during the year-to-date include a wide range of category specialists and other retailers.
"Cost-saving measures at our factories, to align with volume expectations and the trend to digital printing, were implemented earlier this year. Our manufacturing operations are on track to achieve around break-even for the current financial year. We continue to focus on identifying further cost-saving measures across the Group in view of the ongoing market uncertainty.
"Inventory has reduced as planned since the start of the financial year and consequently the net cash position is beginning to build.
"We look forward to providing a further update in our Half Year Trading Update on 7 August 2025."
