AGM Statement
Amerisur Resources Plc, the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America, will hold its Annual General Meeting ("AGM") today at 9.30am. At that meeting, Giles Clarke, Chairman and John Wardle, Chief Executive will provide the following summary on recent progress:
Colombia - Platanillo Block
·; Platanillo-3 spudded, the first of a planned six well drilling campaign
- Well has currently reached below 6,000ft; total planned depth of well is 8,280ft
- As previously advised, expect logs during May 2012
- The results of the drilling programme are expected to substantially increase 2P reserve base and to deliver the production target of 5,000 BOPD by the end of 2012
Colombia - Fenix Block
·; Commercial exploitation licence being completed
·; Farm out interest remains high
·; 50-75km 2D seismic acquisition planned for Summer 2012
·; Bonanza East and South (formerly known as Buenos Aires) leads together with the
Shallow Cretaceous identified with unrisked recoverable resource estimates of 65
MMBO
Paraguay - San Pedro Block
·; Seismic test line planned for 2012
·; Significant partner opportunities following strong uptick in interest in Paraguay
Paraguay - Coronillo, Las Palmas (blocks granted) Espartillar (approval in process)
·; Amerisur analysis indicates basin boundaries and internal forms are different to what was previously understood
·; It is believed the Piriti/Pilar Complex is a single basin and could be an extension of the producing Lomas de Olmedo sub-basin in Argentina
Financial performance
·; The Company is operationally cash flow positive
·; The Company closing cash balance at 8th May 2012 was $15m (in the middle of a drilling programme)
Giles Clarke, Chairman said:
"2011 was a year in which we made strong progress in a difficult environment and the momentum has continued to date in 2012.
"Our ongoing programme is demanding, however very exciting and we remain on track to deliver our 5,000 BOPD year end target. We have an exceptional acreage position, a high reputation as a responsible and able operator and see there being exciting growth opportunities in our core areas in both Colombia and Paraguay."
