Annual General Meeting Statement
At its Annual General Meeting today, Peter Wood, Chairman of White Young Green Plc ("WYG") will comment: "Group profitability and borrowings remain in line with expectations as reported in the recent Interim Management Statement.
It is also pleasing to note that WYG continues to win further projects in those areas of operation highlighted as a focus for growth, including:
In international, WYG has secured two important major EU funded projects in Turkey with combined project budgets of €10.8m and has won a number of socio economic projects in Romania with a total value of €3.8m;
In energy and the environment, Savell Bird & Axon has been appointed by EDF to provide transport advice relating to proposals for a new generation nuclear power plant at Hinckley Point;
In healthcare, WYG has secured projects with contractor partners in Northumbria, Wakefield and Bolton relative to the Procure 21 initiative; and
In transport and infrastructure, WYG has been appointed by Network Rail on a number of projects to further improve its station infrastructure.
To conclude, I would like to thank all staff and shareholders for their continued support and I look forward to providing an update on progress at the Interim Results in February 2009."
