Annual General Meeting Statement
Speaking at the company's Annual General Meeting to be held today, Roger Fidgen, Chairman of Waterman Group plc, the international engineering and environmental consultant, will make the following comments in addition to the recent Interim Management Statement dated 19th November 2009:
" The markets in which Waterman Group operate have continued to be very competitive. However, the Group has secured several new commissions recently and it is with great pleasure that I can announce the following new projects spread across the Group's operations:
In Australia, we have been appointed for the design of two new 50m AUD healthcare centres and also a new 50m AUD leisure complex in Melbourne.
Our Environmental Impact Assessment team have been appointed to provide planning advice to Ballymore on their residential developments in London at Leamouth Peninsula North and also Nine Elms.
Since the start of this financial year we have been appointed to design a further five new schools as part of the Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Lancashire BSF programmes.
In October, Scottish and Southern Energy selected Waterman to provide design services on three new sub-stations as part of the civils and infrastructure framework which covers the upgrade of Scotland's electricity grid network.
" To conclude, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff and shareholders for their contribution during the last financial year and we look forward to giving an update on progress at our half year results in February 2010."
