Annual General Meeting
Walker Greenbank PLC (AIM: WGB), the luxury interior furnishings group whose brands include Sanderson, Morris & Co, Harlequin and Zoffany, will hold its Annual General Meeting in London this morning at which Ian Kirkham, the Company's Chairman, will make the following comments:
"Sales in the first half of the financial year, to 31 July 2008, are expected to be at least 5 per cent above the first half of last year, reflecting continued strong organic growth in our brands.
"The effect of recent macro-economic issues on the UK retail sector is well documented. However, we are able to offer a degree of resilience as our UK customers are not to be found in the mass market and approximately 40 per cent of our sales are in contract and overseas markets, where we are currently under represented and developing strongly.
"As a result, and provided current performance trends continue, we expect the Company to meet market expectations for the full year."
