AGM Statement
Solid State plc (AIM: SSP), the AIM listed supplier of specialist industrial/ruggedised computers, electronic components, antennas, microwave systems and battery power solutions to the electronics market, is pleased to announce that at today's Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held at 12:00 noon at the offices of Solid State plc, 2 Ravensbank Business Park, Hedera Road, Redditch, Worcestershire B98 9EY, the Chairman, Gordon Comben, will make the following statement:
"Solid State has made a reasonable start to the current financial year. Order intake remains strong and margins are holding well. We expect to see a repeat of the traditional second half weighting to our revenue, reflecting the buying patterns of our clients and their budgetary cycles.
"The acquisition of Q-par in May of this year has proven to be a successful one. The integration has been smooth and we are pleased to announce that trading at Q-par in this financial year is comfortably ahead of the comparative period in 2012. New client discussions are buoyant, most notably with export opportunities in the transportation sector at an advanced stage.
"The Board believes that Solid State is demonstrating its resilience in markets that continue to reflect a cautious approach to capital expenditure. The niches that we service remain in demand with sentiment improving."
