FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 24 MARCH 2005 CHEMRING GROUP PLC AGM STATEMENT BY THE CHAIRMAN Ken Scobie, Chairman of Chemring Group PLC ("Chemring" or "the Company"), madethe following statement at the Company's Annual General Meeting today: "I amdelighted to report that trading remains buoyant for the Group'scountermeasures business, particularly with the Department of Defense in theUnited States. Alloy Surfaces' second plant and technology centre is nowoperational, and the official opening will be held on 11 April.Chemring sees continuing growth in decoy sales for several years. The Companydoes not believe that new technologies, such as lasers which are more expensiveand technologically challenging, will have any measurable impact on its decoysales for at least ten years. In many operational scenarios, decoys and laserscomplement each other, and currently combinations of decoys are effectivelyprotecting military aircraft from various MANPAD threats. The Company continues to explore a number of acquisition opportunities in areaswhich are geographically and operationally complementary to its existingbusinesses."
