Annual General Meeting Statement

 

 

Speaking at the company's Annual General Meeting held today, Roger Fidgen, Chairman of Waterman Group plc, the international engineering and environmental consultant, made the following comments in addition to the recent Interim Management Statement dated 18th November 2011:

 

" Whilst the majority of the markets in which Waterman Group operate have continued to be very competitive, the Group has secured several new commissions recently. It is with great pleasure that I can announce the following new projects spread across the Group's operations:

 

·; In Australia, we have been appointed to provide building services designs on the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and also the Albury Wodonga Cancer Centre which are both in the state of Victoria.

 

·; Waterman Structures have been appointed for two new projects for The Crown Estate in St. James's, Central London.

 

·; Our Environmental Impact Assessment team has been appointed to provide planning advice for two residential towers in Vauxhall for Kish6, a joint venture between CIT and Green Properties. Over the last twelve months, we have been appointed for five new developments in this area of London including the US Embassy.

 

·; In the public sector, Waterman has been appointed by the London Borough of Bexley under a Partnering Term Contract to provide engineering and consultancy services from 1st October 2011 for the next four years.

 

·; In November, our Civils team were appointed on a three year framework by HS1 to provide consultancy services on the infrastructure associated with the high speed Rail Link from St. Pancras to the Channel tunnel.

 

·; Waterman has been appointed by Glasgow 2014 Ltd for the provision of multidisciplinary consultancy services to transform the existing Hampden Park football stadium into an international track and field facility for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

 

" To conclude, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff and shareholders for their contribution during the last financial year and we look forward to giving an update on progress at our half year results in February 2012."
