Immediate Release 19 April 2010
GLOBAL ENERGY DEVELOPMENT PLC
(the "Company")
FORMATION OF ADVISORY BOARD
Global Energy Development PLC, the Latin America focused petroleum exploration and production company (LSE-AIM: "GED"), is pleased to announce the formation of an advisory board to be developed and led by Lord Freeman.
The advisory board is designed to widen the advice to the Company from mainly UK based experienced and respected individuals. Members may include those familiar with: the UK financial sector; best practice for a UK-listed but overseas operational company; the political and economic future of Western Hemisphere oil exploration companies; and the UK institutional investor sector. It is intended that the advisory board will assist with long-term strategic planning, help with industry relationships and raise awareness of the Company's activities and plans.
In order for Lord Freeman to concentrate on the advisory board, he will not stand for re-election as a Non-executive Director at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting ("AGM") to be held on 14 May 2010, the notice for which is being posted to shareholders today.
Mikel Faulkner, Chairman, commented:
"The advisory board will undoubtedly be an asset to the Company and I am delighted that Lord Freeman is spearheading its development, especially given his qualifications as outlined in the Annual Report and Accounts 2009 made available today."
