Advertising Contract with China Unionpay
Cashbox is pleased to announce that it has negotiated a two year agreement to advertise China Unionpay, the Chinese Card Scheme with over 1.8 billion card holders, on its ATM machines . The contract comes following China Unionpay's connection to the LINK network in the UK, enabling its customers to access cash from LINK enabled machines. The initial contract is for a two year period. Cashbox will place Chinese (Mandarin) language stickers on its nationwide estate of ATMs, alerting China Unionpay cardholders to the fact that their cards will be accepted for use in those machines. Ciaran Morton, CEO of Cashbox, commented "As well as providing an additional non-transaction based revenue stream, this is an exciting opportunity to promote the use of Cashbox ATMs to Chinese business visitors, tourists and students." Over 140,000 Chinese tourists are estimated to have visited the UK in 2007. With the advent of the 2012 London Olympic Games, more Chinese citizens are expected to visit UK in the next few years. In addition, nearly 100,000 Chinese students are now studying in the UK.
