Smith & Nephew Plc05 May 2005 Application has been made to The UK Listing Authority and the London StockExchange for block listings totalling 2,300,000 Ordinary shares of 12 2/9p eachto trade on the London Stock Exchange and to be admitted to the Official Listupon issuance. The shares shall rank pari passu with the existing issued sharesof the Company. The Block listings consist of 1,000,000 shares to be issued under the EmployeeShare Option Scheme, 1,000,000 shares under the 2001 US Share Plan, 250,000shares for the 2002 International Employee Share Option Scheme and 50,000 sharesto be issued under the 2001 UK Approved Executive Share Option Plan.
