Whitbread PLC12 May 2005 Whitbread PLC12 May 2005 Whitbread PLC (the "Company") Share Consolidation & Block Listing At an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 22 April 2005, the shareholdersapproved a share consolidation on a six for seven basis. Accordingly,application has been made by the Company to the UK Listing Authority of theFinancial Services Authority, and to the London Stock Exchange plc for theadmission of 256,629,639 ordinary shares of 58 1/3p each ("New Ordinary Shares"), which are due to commence trading on 16 May 2005. In addition an application has been made for the block listing of 3,000,000 NewOrdinary Shares fully paid. It is expected that, 1,500,000 New Ordinary Shares will be allotted and issuedin due course pursuant to the rules of the Whitbread PLC approved and unapprovedExecutive Share Option Schemes and that 1,500,000 will be allotted and issued indue course pursuant to the rules of the Whitbread PLC Savings-Related ShareOption Scheme.
