Smith & Nephew plc - Application for Block listing

Further to RNS Notice 5732I, released on 26 July 2012, regarding an application to block list 4,000,000 Ordinary Shares of US$0.20 each, it has come to our attention that reference to the Smith & Nephew 2001 US Share Option Scheme was incorrect and should be replaced by the Smith & Nephew 2001 US Share Plan.

The Block Listing Six Monthly Return released on 7 August 2012 remains correct and shows 2,500,000 Ordinary Shares of US$0.20 each block listed in connection with the Smith & Nephew 2001 US Share Plan.

The shares will rank pari passu with the existing issued shares of the Company.
