Thistle Mining Inc.25 February 2005 THISTLE MINING INC Thistle Mining introduces continuous mining operations at President Steyn Mine and puts its No. 9 shaft on care and maintenance Toronto, 25 February 2005 - Thistle Mining Inc. (TSX: THT and AIM: TMG) Thistle Mining Inc. today announced that they have concluded negotiations withthe relevant labour unions at its President Steyn mine in the Free State, SouthAfrica, to immediately introduce continuous operations ("Conops") at No. 3Shaft, which includes the Eldorado area. The agreement will run initially fortwelve months. Approximately 625 mining jobs will be transferred from No. 9 shaft to No. 3Shaft to facilitate Conops and approximately 270 jobs are also being moved fromNo. 9 Shaft to other shafts at the mine. No. 9 Shaft will then be put on 'careand maintenance' for the time being. On 16 February 2005 the Company despatched "Claims Materials For Noteholders" toregistered noteholders, known participant noteholders and unregisterednoteholders that had been identified by PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., theCompany's Monitor for the purposes of the Companies Creditors Arrangement Actproceedings in Canada.
