Intertek Group PLC18 September 2007 18 September 2007, 7am London, UK Intertek announces two acquisitions Intertek Group plc (Intertek), the leading international provider of quality andsafety services to a wide range of industries, announces two acquisitions:National Software Testing Labs, Inc. (NSTL) a company that tests software formobile devices and PCs in North America, and Northern Territory EnvironmentalLaboratories Pty Ltd (NTEL), a minerals and environmental analytical testinglaboratory in Darwin, Australia. NSTL was acquired from its shareholders Lloyd Holder and Gerald Roche forUSD24.0m (GBP12m) in cash. The company provides a range of quality, complianceand functionality testing services for applications on mobile devices tomanufacturers, application developers, platform sponsors and wireless serviceproviders for applications used for entertainment, gaming, banking and otherbusiness purposes. The acquisition bolsters Intertek's capability and presence in the NorthAmerican application software testing market for mobile devices, following itsacquisition of Product Quality Partners Inc, earlier this year. NSTL has itsheadquarters in Philadelphia, and offices and laboratories in the states ofCalifornia and Washington, USA and in Canada, Brazil, India and Taiwan. NSTLjoins Intertek's other mobile device and applications testing laboratories inCalifornia, New Jersey and Kentucky, USA. NTEL was acquired from its four management shareholders for AUD2.4m (GBP1m) incash. NTEL provides geochemical and environmental analysis to the miningexploration industry in Australia. NTEL's services and geographical locationextend Intertek's analytical services in the minerals, mining and explorationindustries in Australia, Asia and Africa and support continuing demand fromChina and India.
