(SWC) from its owner-managers for 3.1 million (US$6.3 million) in cash. SWC is a 36-person engineering firm with a focus in the area of geotechnicalconsulting serving the US mining sector. The firm is based in Denver, Colorado,with a satellite office in Elko, Nevada. The acquisition is consistent with AMEC's strategy of geographic and capacityexpansion in the Earth and Environmental business and will provide additionalexpertise, particularly in the western United States.
