SDL plc
Acquisition of XyEnterprise
A further step in technology leadership - strengthens position in content management
SDL plc ("SDL"), the leading provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, today announced the completion of the acquisition of XyEnterprise Inc ("XyEnterprise"), a leader in XML Component Content Management and Dynamic Publishing Solutions, from JNNV LLC, Key Principal Partners, Cenveo Corporation, Friendly Capital Partners, L.P and others.
SDL has acquired XyEnterprise for a consideration of $14.7m (£8.9m). The acquisition is being funded from SDL's existing cash resources. A global business, XY Enterprise Inc. has turnover of $9.9 million.
Further extending the SDL technology leadership position in true end to end GIM solutions, the acquisition of XyEnterprise builds on the momentum created by SDL's acquisition of Trisoft in 2008. Since that acquisition, SDL has seen a growing demand for technologies that manage, reuse and deliver multilingual product content across a company's base of global customers, including everything from service manuals to user documentation.
With the acquisition of XyEnterprise, SDL significantly expands its content management product offering and technical capabilities. XyEnterprise products are recognized in the industry for leadership and innovation, and currently support more than two hundred enterprise companies with thousands of users.
The transaction will see Kevin Duffy, the President and CEO of XyEnterprise, become the CEO of SDL XySoft which will combine the collective strengths of SDL Trisoft and XyEnterprise.
Mark Lancaster, Chairman and CEO, SDL plc, commented:
"XyEnterprise's content management products and expertise will enable us to scale faster to meet the evolving market needs of our clients to provide multilingual content to their customers instantly and more cost effectively across their enterprise so achieving competitive advantage in the global marketplace."
