Close Brothers Group PLC23 May 2006 Close Brothers Group plc (the "Company") announces that Bedell Cristin TrusteesLimited (the "Trustee") as Trustee of the Close Brothers Group Employee ShareTrust acquired 200,000 ordinary shares in the Company ("Shares") on 22nd May2006 at an average price of 937.01 per Share. These Shares will be used in duecourse to satisfy options and awards under the Company's employee share schemes. Following the acquisition of these Shares, the Trustee now holds 1,374,335Shares. The executive directors of the Company are for Companies Act purposesdeemed to be interested in all of these Shares.
