Acquisition of Hazardous Waste Site
Augean North Sea Services Ltd ("ANSS" or the "Company") the joint venture between Scomi Oiltools and Augean PLC focused on delivering waste management services to the North Sea oil and gas industry, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a hazardous waste site at Blackdog, Aberdeenshire.
The site will be ANSS's fourth facility in the region and will be focused on delivering solutions for treatment of slops water wastes from the North Sea oil & gas industry.
The Company's other licenced sites are located at Pocra Quay, a waste water envirocentre in Aberdeen Harbour specialising in drilling slop waste, Lerwick harbour, with a yard, warehousing and a tank farm, and a hazardous waste site at Greenbank in Tullos, Aberdeen.
ANSS was established to bring together Augean's expertise in the management of difficult to handle wastes with Scomi Oiltools' history as market leaders in drilling waste management. The business has the capability to source, contain, treat, recycle and ultimately dispose of offshore wastes for its customers through an integrated waste management supply chain using facilities in Scotland and Northern England.
Commenting on the acquisition, Simon Gibb, Managing Director of ANSS, said: "We have been very pleased with the level of interest and progress ANSS has made since its creation. The past 12 months has seen the Company secure new contracts, grow revenues and increase headcount in Aberdeenshire from 42 personnel to over 70.
This latest acquisition will enable us to widen our service offering to our growing client base in the region and reaffirms ANSS's position at the forefront of the provision of waste management to the North Sea oil and gas industry."
