Following the extension of the deadline for the German Bundeskartellamt (Federal Cartel Office) to complete its primary evaluation process until 11 August 2008, Air Berlin, Thomas Cook and the Federal Cartel Office case team have continued their discussions regarding the acquisition. With the approval of Air Berlin and Thomas Cook, the Federal Cartel Office has further extended the deadline by an additional two months until 9. October 2008.
