AMEC acquires Australian estimating consultancy BurmanGriffiths

AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, announces today that it has acquired BurmanGriffiths, a leading provider of estimating and programming services, from its owner managers, for a cash consideration of AU$4.5 million.

BurmanGriffiths is a 10-person cost estimating, cost management and planning consultancy located in Brisbane, Australia. Founded in 2005, the company provides high quality cost and planning services for the civil engineering industry, servicing regional, national and global customers across Australia. The acquisition will become part of AMEC's cost management consultancy, Aquenta Consulting, formerly Currie & Brown (Australia).

The acquisition is consistent with AMEC's Vision 2015 strategy of geographic and capability expansion in Australasia and follows the acquisition of GRD Minproc in November 2009 and Currie & Brown (Australia) in January 2010.
