AMEC PLC09 January 2008 AMEC plc 9 January 2008 AMEC acquires US fisheries and watershed management consultancy AMEC plc, the international engineering and project management company,announces today that it has acquired the US fisheries and watershed managementconsultancy Steward and Associates ("Steward") from its owner-manager for £0.2million (US$0.5 million) in cash. Based in Washington State, USA, Steward specialises in fish-habitat studies. Theacquisition is consistent with AMEC's strategy of geographic and capacityexpansion in the Earth and Environmental business and will provide additionalexpertise in fisheries, watershed management and habitat restoration in thePacific Northwest.
