AMEC PLC13 July 2006 13 July 2006 AMEC plc Canadian environmental services acquisition AMEC plc, the international project management and services company, announcesthe acquisition of Coastal Ocean Associates, Inc, a leader in professionaloceanographic, numerical modelling and scientific technical services based in Dartmouth (Halifax), Nova Scotia, Canada with net assets of CDN$0.49 million(£0.24 million). This is an important addition to AMEC's marine capacity adding expertise in thecontinental shelf regions of Atlantic Canada where Coastal Ocean Associatesserves clients in the energy, process industries, utilities and governmentsectors. This acquisition, alongside AMEC's existing marine operations group in St.John's, Newfoundland, strengthens AMEC's position in the emerging energybusiness in offshore Nova Scotia.
