Intertek Group PLC29 November 2005 29 November 2005, 7am (UK) Intertek Group plc ("Intertek") Intertek acquires Lintec Testing Services and Lubricant Quality Scan Intertek, the global testing, inspection and certification company, announcestwo acquisitions. Lintec Testing Services Ltd (Lintec) was acquired from JohnDixon for £3.0m in cash. Lubricant Quality Scan (LQS) was acquired as part of anoutsourcing deal from Lloyd's Register for £0.4m in cash.Both businesses are based in the UK, with Lintec also having operations inHolland and Singapore. Lintec and LQS perform marine fuel and lubricant testingservices for the shipping industry. The combination of these businesses withIntertek Caleb Brett's marine fuel testing operations will further strengthenIntertek's position in this market and enable it to enhance its service tocustomers. This outsourcing deal from Lloyd's Register and the acquisition ofLintec, will ensure Intertek Caleb Brett continues as a key supplier of testresults and advice to Lloyd's Register and its customers.
