AMEC PLC02 November 2007 2 November 2007 AMEC to acquire UK environmental consultancy business;expands client services to Scotland AMEC plc, the international engineering and project management company,announces today that it has acquired Young Associates (EnvironmentalConsultants) Limited ("Young Associates) from its owner manager for £0.5 millionin cash. Of this, £0.4 million has been paid on completion, with the balancepayable on the first anniversary. Young Associates is a specialist ecology and environmental impact assessmentbusiness, with 18 staff split between offices in Chester and Edinburgh, UK. Itsclients include energy and power companies as well as local authorities. "The specialist services provided by Young Associates complement and strengthenour existing environmental impact capabilities," said Roger Jinks, President ofAMEC's Earth and Environmental business.
