AMEC PLC09 January 2008 AMEC plc 9 January 2008 AMEC acquires US occupational health and safety consultancy AMEC plc, the international engineering and project management company,announces today that it has acquired the US occupational health and safetyconsultancy Marine & Environmental Testing, Inc. "M&ET" from its owner-managersfor £0.3 million (US$0.5 million) in cash. M&ET is an industrial hygiene, occupational safety, training and regulationconsulting firm based in Portland, Oregon, US. The acquisition is consistentwith AMEC's strategy of geographic and capacity expansion in its Earth andEnvironmental division. It expands the breadth of AMEC's health and safetyconsulting services in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in the areas ofoccupational health and safety training, compliance with US regulations, andemployee exposure monitoring.
