STATEMENT RE: ACCORD ON FIRE AND BUILDING SAFETY IN BANGLADESH

N Brown Group plc (LSE: BWNG) today announces that it has signed the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, supporting the initiative which aims to improve safety conditions in supplier factories in Bangladesh.

The Accord, led by IndustriALL and UNI Global Unions and other NGO partners, has been under negotiation since the Rana Plaza building collapse on April 24 2013. The aim of the Accord is to develop a safe and sustainable Bangladeshi Ready Made Garment (RMG) industry, improving factory conditions and properly confronting fire safety and structural problems.

N Brown Group did not use factories in the Rana Plaza building for any of its brands, but it recognises the need for a broad coalition of signatures in order for the Accord to work effectively and prevent another tragedy from occurring.
