INVESTOR DAY NOTICE AND THIRD QUARTER TRADING STATEMENT

London, UK: 9 October 2012. In connection with the company's Investor Day being held in London today, Inmarsat plc (ISAT.L) today announces a trading update for the 3 months ended 30 September 2012. 

TRADING STATEMENT

Rupert Pearce, Chief Executive Officer, said: "Trading during the third quarter has been consistent with trends reported for the second quarter and with our guidance for the full year." 

During the third quarter, Inmarsat Global's maritime business continued to see strong take up of FleetBroadband, with over 2,100 net additions to the base of active terminals making a total installed base of over 32,000 at the end of the quarter. Sales of XpressLink have also been encouraging with a number of new contracts signed. Performance across other business sectors and the Inmarsat Solutions business has been positive and consistent with recently reported revenue trends.

Inmarsat plc expects to release an Interim Management Statement for the 3 months ended 30 September 2012 on 5 November 2012.

Inmarsat plc is today hosting an Investor Day meeting at its London offices. The meeting will begin at 8.30am and consist of a series of presentations focused on Inmarsat's Global Xpress investment programme. Other than the Trading Statement above, no further information in relation to current trading will be disclosed at the event.
