LONDON (Alliance News) - Zegona Communications PLC on Monday said its Telecable operating unit has signed a deal with Spanish telecommunications giant Telefonica SA.
Zegona, formed to buy companies in the European telecoms sector, said Spanish cable operator Telecable has struck a mobile access deal with Telefonica which will provide Telecable access to Telefonica's full range of mobile technologies.
Zegona said the deal will allow Telecable to offer customers further service upgrades, and it expects to start migrating customers to the new service in the first half of 2017.
"This innovative agreement, with its redesigned economics, gives Telecable access to the highest quality mobile network in Spain and enables us to offer our customers a market-leading mobile service, including high speed 4G data," said Eamonn O'Hare, Zegona's chief executive and chairman.
