Zamano Sees "Material Increase" In Half-Year Revenue

6th Aug 2014 08:40

LONDON (Alliance News) - Internet and mobile technology company Zamano PLC Wednesday said it has recorded a "material increase" in first-half revenue compared to the immediately previous six-month period, boosted by better UK sales and higher sales levels in Australia.

The company, which provides mobile marketing and content monetisation, said revenue in the first half of 2014 is materially higher than the second half of 2013.

"This is mostly as a result of increased UK sales as well as achieving sales levels in Australia... due to the successful development of a strategic campaign with new mobile advertising partners. In Ireland, Messagehero, our new messaging product targeted at the SME and Enterprise market, continues to be refined in accordance with market demands," the company said in a statement ahead of its annual general meeting later Wednesday morning.

Zamano said it is now focused on looking for acquisition, investment and joint-venture opportunities in the UK and Ireland in order to accelerate the development of the business.

"The group has focused on opportunities in mobile media, payments, messaging and related products during the period... and is actively pursuing a number of such opportunities, any one of which, if concluded, will diversify zamano's product base," the company added.

For 2013, Zamano posted a pretax profit of EUR1.9 million, down from EUR3.6 million in 2012, as revenue declined to EUR16.0 million from EUR19.2 million.

Zamano shares were trading 3.5% lower Wednesday morning, at 8.20 pence.
