(Alliance News) - Yu Group PLC on Wednesday said its hired a former non-executive director of UK water regulator Ofwat as its new board chair.
Yu Group supplies electricity, gas, water and other utility solutions to business customers in the UK.
The company it has appointed Robin Bryant as non-executive chair from Wednesday. Ralph Cohen will be stepping down as board chair and leaving the board after a period of transition, having been in the role since 2016.
Bryant was non-executive director at UK water regulator Ofwat from 2012 to 2016. He previously was associate director at merchant bank Hill Samuel & Co. Ltd.
Yu Group also appointed Tony Perkins as senior independent non-executive director, also from Wednesday.
Perkins was appointed a partner at accounting firm BDO LLP in 1990 and has experience in financial, governance and risk management, Yu noted.
Chief Executive Bobby Kalar commented: "The appointment of such high calibre individuals brings the necessary skills and strengths required to take the company to the next stage of its evolution and complement the existing board."
Shares in Yu Group were trading 16% higher at 110.25 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
