LONDON (Alliance News) - Young & Co's Brewery PLC on Tuesday said Retail Director Patrick Dardis will succeed Stephen Goodyear as chief executive at the end of the company's annual general meeting on July 5.
The pub company and brewer said Goodyear will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
Dardis jointed Young's in 2002, prior to which he was director of retail operations at Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries PLC, now Marston's PLC. He also previously worked at Whitbread PLC.
"This change represents a smooth and effective succession plan. In Patrick, we have a very well qualified successor to Steve as chief executive. Having undertaken a thorough review of potential candidates, including externally, it was very clear that Patrick, having been intrinsically involved in our success over the last 10 years, was the right person," Chairman Nicholas Bryan said in a statement.
Shares in Young's were trading up 2.8% at 1,212.00 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
