YouGov Acquires Online Research Agency Wizsight For Undisclosed Sum

17th Nov 2020 15:56

(Alliance News) - YouGov PLC on Tuesday acquired Wizsight, an award-winning Turkish online-focused research agency and will rename it as YouGov Turkey.

Istanbul-based Wizsight was founded in 2017 by Ozge Akcizmeci Ustun, who will continue to lead the team by taking on the role of commercial and general manager for Turkey.

YouGov said that the acquisition will enable it to offer a greater array of research products and services to clients and will further increase panel activity in Turkey by transitioning Wizsight's existing research projects onto the YouGov platform. It did not disclose the price of the acquisition.

Stephan Shakespeare, chief executive of YouGov, said: "With its progressive attitude to online research and its impressive roster of blue-chip clients, Wizsight is the perfect fit for us. We are committed to offering our clients a connected data proposition that provides a continuous stream of consumer insight data globally. Turkey is a key growth market for YouGov and many of its clients and by setting roots there, through this acquisition, we can better serve those clients both within Turkey and the wider region."

Shares in YouGov were 1.7% at 980.50 pence in London on Tuesday.
