LONDON (Alliance News) - Xcite Energy Ltd on Monday said one of its subsidiaries has signed a memorandum of understanding with Baker Hughes Ltd, a unit of US oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc, for the Bentley oil field in the North Sea.
Under the deal, Xcite Energy Resources PLC has tapped Baker Hughes to handle the supply of drilling and completion services, well engineering, electronic submersible pumps and reservoir engineering.
In July, Xcite signed a deal with Aibel AS for engineering, procurement and construction of a self-installing steel concept elevating platform for the Bentley field.
"We are very pleased that Baker Hughes has joined the Bentley development group and we believe this is a further validation of the viability of this project and demonstrates the continuing progress we are making towards our field development plan," said Xcite Chief Executive Officer Rupert Cole.
"The provision of these key oil field services is an important part of the successful delivery of any project and we believe Baker Hughes has the necessary skills, expertise and track record to support our development group," said Cole.
