Xchanging Names New Chief Executive To Succeed Lever

16th Sep 2015 07:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - Xchanging PLC on Wednesday named Craig Wilson as its new chief executive, meaning he will join from HP Enterprise Services to succeed Ken Lever when he steps down at the end of 2015.

Lever, whose looming retirement was revealed when Xchanging revealed at the end of July that it had swung to a GBP44.4 million pretax loss in the first half of 2015 on a big goodwill impairment charge in its procurement division, has been in charge of the business process services and technology company since 2011.

Wilson joins Xchanging from HP Enterprise Services, according to Xchanging.

"In his 20 year career at HP and EDS he led the applications business across Europe and latterly the HP Enterprise Services business in UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa - the market leading IT services company with revenues exceeding GBP2.5 billion," Xchanging said.

Wilson will join the board from November 1, before assuming the role of chief executive from January 1, 2016.

"We are delighted to attract someone of Craig's talent and experience. His appointment is all about exploiting the obvious growth potential in the Xchanging portfolio and we think he has the market vision and experience to do that," Chairman Geoff Unwin said in a statement.

Wilson said: "I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to lead Xchanging through its next stage of development. I am really impressed by Xchanging's outstanding client list and deep industry expertise."

Shares in Xchanging were up 2.4% at 94.75 pence on Wednesday morning in London.
