Xaar Launches New Printhead Products, Enters Partnership With Ricoh

LONDON (Alliance News) - Inkjet printing technology company Xaar PLC on Thursday said it has launched a new family of printheads, and has established a partnership with Japanese technology company Ricoh Co Ltd.

The company said it has launched its new Thin Film piezo Silicon MEMS 5601 family of printheads at printing equipment exhibition Drupa in Germany.

Xaar has established a partnership with Ricoh in Think Film piezo printhead development, which it believes will deliver "substantial benefits to the customers of both Xaar and Ricoh through market-leading technology and a broader range of Thin Film piezo printheads".

"We are delighted to announce the new Xaar 5601 family of printheads and the strategic collaboration with Ricoh, both of which will provide end customers in many industry sectors with improved productivity at lower cost. Continued investment in technology and product development, together with strategic partnerships, are key elements of our 2020 vision," said Chief Executive Officer Doug Edwards in a statement.

Shares in Xaar were up 0.9% at 474.25 pence Thursday.
