In the Agricultural division, feed demand for the four months to the end of February was above the levels from the year before, and fertiliser sales have increased after tempered autumn demand, with a busy trading period expected in spring.
There is encouraging demand for spring seed, with the majority of orders already on books for the season.
In the Specialist Retail division, like-for-like sales for the period were higher year-on-year, and Wynnstay said it is confident the trend will continue.
"There are still important seasonal trading months ahead, but we are encouraged by the Group's performance in the new financial year so far," said Chief Executive Officer Ken Greetham.
