WYG Wins Contract With Polish Government For Unemployment Scheme

4th Mar 2016 10:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - Project management and technical consultancy WYG PLC on Friday said it has been awarded a contract worth up to EUR5.8 million to support the Polish government's initiative to help the unemployed.

WYG said under the new contract it will provide short-term training and initial assistance to unemployed people in the Silesia district in southwest Poland. It will be helping the Silesian labour office in eight districts of the region.

The estimated budgetary allocation of the Polish government for the overall programme is EUR50.0 million in 2016.

"This is one of the first of a number of similar projects under the overall programme which are expected to be tendered by the regional labour offices financed through the Labour Ministry in Poland. The contract award demonstrates that government and EU funds are again starting to flow following the recent hiatus in spending," said Chief Executive Paul Hamer.

Shares in WYG were up 1.9% at 129.40 pence on Fridayg.
