LONDON (Alliance News) - Project management and technical consultancy WYG PLC on Wednesday said it has acquired SCA Planning Ltd for a total of GBP3.7 million to boost its position in the UK consultancy market.
SCA Planning, which trades at Signet Planning, is a town planning and urban design firm. WYG said Signet is well-positioned to deliver growth in the London commercial development market and the residential market across the UK. It also sees opportunities arising from the UK government's 'Northern Powerhouse' push to devolve economic power away from London to the north of England.
Of the total consideration, GBP3.5 million will be payable in cash on completion, with the balance to be paid based on Signet hitting performance targets in the first year of ownership.
"Following our recent acquisitions of Alliance Planning, FMW Consultancy and North Associates, we now have more than 140 planning specialists representing the third largest team in the UK. This leading market position leaves us well placed to take advantage of the strong demand we expect for these specialist skills within a buoyant UK market for property and infrastructure development," said Paul Hamer, WYG's chief executive.
