LONDON (Alliance News) - Engineering and project management consultancy WS Atkins PLC Tuesday said it will buy Nuclear Safety Associates Inc. of the US as long as it gets US government approval, part of its strategy to become a big player in the US nuclear energy market.
NSA is an engineering and technical services firm with a focus on nuclear safety, design engineering, and professional security services.
WS Atkins didn't give any financial details about the potential deal, but said it would give more details once it gets the necessary approvals for the deal.
"Nuclear Safety Associates will both enhance the capability of the group's energy business and provide NSA the opportunity to expand its well established project and client base in the US nuclear market," the British company said in its statement.
WS Atkins shares were down 0.6% at 1,297.75 pence Tuesday morning.
