WPP Subsidiary Buys US Mobile Apps Developer Double Encore

LONDON (Alliance News) - WPP PLC Wednesday said it has acquired US-based mobile applications developer Double Encore via its POSSIBLE subsidiary.

WPP did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition.

Double Encore made revenues USD8.0 million in 2013, and counts the likes of Major League Soccer and airline JetBlue amongst its clients.

The FTSE 100-listed advertising group has made a slew of acquisitions in recent months, including data visualisation firm Guardian Digital Agency, an investment in automated market research firm ZappiStore Ltd and a majority stake in South Africa-based marketing firm EXP, all in July.

WPP shares were down 0.9% to 1,165 pence on Wednesday.
