(Alliance News) - WPP PLC on Wednesday said subsidiary Wunderman Thompson has acquired mobile technology provider NN4M, but did not disclose any financial details of the deal.
The FTSE 100-listed advertising agency said Edinburgh-based NN4M employs 50 people across multiple markets and regions. It has worked with commerce brands including Selfridges & Co, Nestle SA and River Island by building "bespoke commerce applications for brands across multiple touchpoints, including smartphone, tablet, apps and in-store experiences."
WPP said the acquisition, which will see NN4M become part of Wunderman Thompson Commerce, is in line with its "accelerated growth strategy and focused mergers & acquisitions approach to build on existing capabilities in growth areas such as marketing technology and e-commerce."
To expand its presence in the areas of "experience, commerce and technology", WPP acquired Brazilian software engineering company DTI Digital back in February.
Shares in WPP were up 1.4% at 894.00 pence in London on Wednesday.
