Workspace Gains Planning Permission For Property Redevelopment

22nd Mar 2018 09:22

LONDON (Alliance News) - Workspace Group PLC said Thursday that it has been granted planning permission for redevelopment at its Chocolate Factory and Parma House properties located in the Haringey area of London.

The UK based office and studio space provider said it secured a planning consent for extensive redevelopment across 2.3 acre with 230 new homes and 26,000 square feet of new office space and light industrial space, with a loss of 89,000 square feet of office and light industrial space.

The new office space consists of a 6,000 square feet roof extension to the Chocolate Factory building which is currently being refurbished to provide 60,000 square feet of upgraded space, and 20,000 square feet of new office space.

The scheme also provides a new public square and a pedestrian and cycle link connecting Haringey Heartlands with Wood Green Common.

"We are delighted to have received planning permission for this major mixed use redevelopment in Wood Green, an area which is undergoing an exciting transformation. This consent at the Chocolate Factory adds to our extensive pipeline of refurbishment and redevelopment projects, upgrading the quality of our portfolio across London and driving value for shareholders over the long term," Chief Executive Jamie Hopkins said.

Shares in Workspace were up 0.5% at 1,002.00 pence per share on Thursday morning.
