LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 250-listed oil services company John Wood Group PLC on Friday said it has been awarded a contract by Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA to handle engineering modifications and upgrades to the Kollsnes process plant in Norway.
Wood Group said the estimated value of the contract, including options and procurement, is NOK500 million, or GBP41.3 million. Wood Group's Mustang Norway unit started the work earlier this month, and the work is scheduled to finish in 2017.
Wood said the contract work will include front-end engineering design, procurement and management assistance to expand plant capacity and engineering, procurement and management assistance (EPma) to update the electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
"Wood Group Mustang's onshore engineering expertise combined with our knowledge and experience with Statoil is enabling us to provide a competitive technical solution for the Kollsnes plan," said Wood Group Mustang Norway President Otto Søberg.
