LONDON (Alliance News) - Engineering services company John Wood Group PLC on Tuesday said it has struck a deal to acquire UK-based Automated Technology Group for an undisclosed amount.
Wood Group said Bedfordshire-based ATG supplies control and power products to the UK automotive, food and beverage and airport sectors. It generated sales of GBP36 million in the year to the end of March and Andy Robinson, its current chief executive, will continue to lead the business.
ATG will be integrated into Wood Group's Mustang business unit and will give it an entry into the manufacturing automation market.
"ATG provides many opportunities for Wood Group Mustang, including growing our automation business to include manufacturing and expanding into the food and beverage and airport markets. With a culture focused on people and innovation, ATG is the right fit for Wood Group Mustang," said Wood Group Mustang Chief Executive Michele McNichol.
Shares in Wood Group were down 3.3% to 581.00 pence on Tuesday.
